About

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (Rainbow) is a philanthropic sorority for girls ages 11-20, and does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, orientation, disability, or religion. “Rainbow Gets Girls Ready for Life!” The leadership, organization and communication skills that girls learn in Rainbow are unparalleled, and not found in any other organization serving young women today.

Rainbow instills a deep sense of service in its members, and teaches girls the importance of service above self. Girls plan and attend hands-on service events in the community and raise funds for charities they are passionate about. In the past five years alone, chapters across Washington and Idaho have raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity.

Rainbow teaches girls how to lead through hands-on experience. The girls of each Assembly plan events, establish budgets, and run their own business meetings. Girls are elected by their peers to lead the organization at the local and state level, giving girls the unique opportunity to run a non-profit organization. Read more

“I became very close to a youth organization called The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, at the age of 11.  Rainbow is a non-profit organization that communicates leadership, community service, public speaking and responsibility to its members.  Rainbow as a team, builds each and every young girl/sister into a respectable and responsible woman.

Rainbow gave me these skills and have forever changed my life.  Rainbow is an amazing organization for girls 11-20 to receive the knowledge and responsibility to get you ready for life.”

"My daughter, Cassie Lynn, and I were introduced to Rainbow by a friend in early 2013. Becoming part of the 'Family' happened quickly for us and has been one of the best choices we have made in our lives. Not only has it made our relationship stronger, Rainbow has given Cassie the strength and support to overcome her anxieties and become a stronger and more confident young woman. Volunteering, public speaking and long-lasting friendships for the both of us are just a few of the experiences we have gained by being a part of this wonderful, caring Rainbow Family."

I’m in a youth organization for girls 11-20, called the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.  Rainbow gives girls a safe place to grow and gain confidence, working on leadership, community service, and public speaking.  Rainbow was/is my lifeline and continues to make me happy, and most of my best and life-long friends are a part of this group.  Without this organization, I wouldn’t be who I am today and I believe any girl can join and blossom in leadership and confidence through their journey in the group.

“Rainbow is a non-profit youth organization that gives girls opportunities to develop great life skills while they are young.  Managing group projects, public speaking, working with finances and performing community service are just some of the things that I have been a part of since joining.  I know when I applied to college, all of these experiences really helped me.  And even after college, Rainbow offers higher leadership opportunities that are not only great for building resumes, but also just for preparing me for life and giving the skills I have needed, to balance a busy schedule.”

“I have been associated with IORG for 10 years as a parent, mother advisor and director of pledges. It has helped so much in providing a foundation of civility and morality to pass on to my daughter and to other young ladies. It has provided opportunities for public speaking, leadership, event planning, and time management that simply is not available to youth today. I honestly could not have asked for a better organization to help raise young ladies in these very trying times.”

“I am a Rainbow girl.  What that means is that I’m learning the skills to become the leader I want to be, give back to my community through service, and become more confident in myself.  It helps me to grow into who I am both in Rainbow and outside it with my other passions in my life.”

“I’m part of a youth service organization called Rainbow Girls.  We do lots of community service and we help teach girls about public speaking.  I know it’s helped me feel more confident with school presentations.  Also, we have fun events that really help us bond and get to know each other.”
