About

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (Rainbow) is a philanthropic sorority for girls ages 11-20, and does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, orientation, disability, or religion. “Rainbow Gets Girls Ready for Life!” The leadership, organization and communication skills that girls learn in Rainbow are unparalleled, and not found in any other organization serving young women today.

Rainbow instills a deep sense of service in its members, and teaches girls the importance of service above self. Girls plan and attend hands-on service events in the community and raise funds for charities they are passionate about. In the past five years alone, chapters across Washington and Idaho have raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity.

Rainbow teaches girls how to lead through hands-on experience. The girls of each Assembly plan events, establish budgets, and run their own business meetings. Girls are elected by their peers to lead the organization at the local and state level, giving girls the unique opportunity to run a non-profit organization. Read more

“I became very close to a youth organization called The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, at the age of 11.  Rainbow is a non-profit organization that communicates leadership, community service, public speaking and responsibility to its members.  Rainbow as a team, builds each and every young girl/sister into a respectable and responsible woman.

Rainbow gave me these skills and have forever changed my life.  Rainbow is an amazing organization for girls 11-20 to receive the knowledge and responsibility to get you ready for life.”

I’m in a youth organization for girls 11-20, called the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.  Rainbow gives girls a safe place to grow and gain confidence, working on leadership, community service, and public speaking.  Rainbow was/is my lifeline and continues to make me happy, and most of my best and life-long friends are a part of this group.  Without this organization, I wouldn’t be who I am today and I believe any girl can join and blossom in leadership and confidence through their journey in the group.

“Rainbow is a service based international organization for girls 11-20 that teaches leadership, public speaking and sisterhood.  I’ve met many life-long friends through this organization, not only in my city but all over Washington and Idaho.  Not to mention the beautiful dresses!  Overall, it gets girls ready for life using sisterhood, leadership and by creating a mentorship between the younger and older girls that is impossible to replicate.”

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a youth group for girls 11-20, that focuses on community service and leadership.  The girls help raise money for service organizations such as Make-A-Wish, Shriner’s Hospital, among many others.  While raising money for the service organizations, they learn life skills like public speaking, project managing, and communication.  During all of this, the girls have fun events and make life-long friends.  Would you like to hear about my Rainbow journey?

“I am a part of a community service sorority called the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, which promotes mentorship among girls 11-20, leadership opportunities, as this organization is run by the girls, along with sisterhood.  Based on the positions I have had on a local and state level, I have learned to have better communication skills, to serve the community with greater purpose, and to become a more responsible person managing time with activities in and out of this organization.  I love this organization because it has given me skills I can use in the work force as well as compassion for others at school and with my family. ”

“Rainbow is a non-profit youth organization that gives girls opportunities to develop great life skills while they are young.  Managing group projects, public speaking, working with finances and performing community service are just some of the things that I have been a part of since joining.  I know when I applied to college, all of these experiences really helped me.  And even after college, Rainbow offers higher leadership opportunities that are not only great for building resumes, but also just for preparing me for life and giving the skills I have needed, to balance a busy schedule.”

“I belong to a youth organization called Rainbow, and joining was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  Us girls learn all sorts of life skills like communication, leadership, public speaking and community service.  Some of my greatest friends are in Rainbow and I never would have met them without all the travel opportunities Rainbow has given me.  Any girl ages 11-20 can join and learn how to be an even better daughter, sister and woman.”

“When I was eleven years old I was going through a great deal of personal turmoil. I was getting over the loss of a father, I had horrible self-esteem and I was doing poorly in school. I was so afraid to let anyone get close to me out of fear of being judged or not being accepted. When I joined rainbow it opened my eyes to life and all of its possibilities. It created a world where I could be myself and grow into a strong and empowered woman. Because of rainbow I went from a fourth grader who could barely read, to a second year veterinary student in the top 15th percentile of my class. Rainbow gives you the courage to discover what you want out of life and then gives you the tools to accomplish it.”

“I’m in love with an organization called Rainbow.  As a member, you learn crucial skills and traits you will need later on in life.  Personally I’ve been a member for about 7 years now and can honestly say I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it weren’t for the leadership, communication and organizational skills I learned.  In addition, my confidence and compassion have soared through the roof!  Rainbow gets girls ready for life and I’m a living example.”

“I belong to a youth organization for girls 11-20 called International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.  Rainbow allows young women to grow their leadership skills and public speaking, as well as doing hands-on community service; to gain confidence and organizational skills that I would not otherwise have.  There are also many scholarship opportunities that being in Rainbow offers, as we promote the value of education.”
