What Rainbow Is All About
Washington Idaho Rainbow is where girls grow into confident leaders, supportive friends, and people who know how to show up for others.
For over 100 years, Rainbow has been helping young women step into leadership through real experience—planning events, running meetings, giving back to their communities, and learning skills that last way beyond high school.
And today? That mission is still going strong—just with a new generation of girls making it their own.
Who We Are Today
Rainbow is a nonprofit leadership organization for girls ages 11–20 where learning happens by doing.
Girls don’t just attend—they lead. They plan meetings, organize events, manage budgets, run service projects, and step into leadership roles at both the local and state level. Along the way, they build confidence, learn how to communicate, and figure out what they’re capable of (which is usually way more than they expected).
It’s a place where you don’t have to have it all figured out—you just have to be willing to try.
Rainbow is inclusive and welcomes girls of all backgrounds, faiths, races, orientations, and abilities. Our shared foundation is simple: service above self, respect for others, and a commitment to personal growth.
A Place Where Everyone Belongs 💖
Rainbow is built on the idea that every girl deserves a place where she feels supported, respected, and included.
We welcome girls of all backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. What matters here isn’t where you come from—it’s how you show up, how you treat others, and how you grow together.
Different perspectives make us stronger. Different stories make us better.
What Rainbow Is (and Isn’t)
We know people sometimes have questions—and that’s okay.
A space where confidence and communication grow through real experiences
A community where traditions, events, and yes—fun—are all part of the experience ✨
A supportive, girl-led sisterhood where friendships truly matter
A place to build leadership skills and make a real impact through service

On the main floor of the Chalet, there is a full kitchen with a large dining area. Upstairs are bunk beds and an open area for sleeping. The outdoor Amphitheater has electricity and a sound system. Outside areas include a gazebo and RV hookups. The Masonic Park has wonderful scenery with river walks. Potts of Gold
Potts of Gold (Potts) is our retreat on Hood Canal in Union, Washington. The three-story house has an upstairs sleeping space for thirty. The main floor’s main attraction is the huge brick fireplace in the spacious living room. An open kitchen with a double oven and grill is perfect for preparing meals for any size crowd. The dining room can not only accommodate seating at meals, but space for any projects. There are two bedrooms on the main floor with a double bed in one and a queen bed in the other. Downstairs is a game room with puzzles, a pool table, and ping pong. Outside is a gazebo, basketball court, and play area.
A favorite at Potts is the front porch where you can sit and watch the sunrise and set over the water.

Girl-Led, Adult-Supported
One of the things that makes Rainbow different? Girls join and make lifelong friends. Along the way, they choose and plan group events, they learn how to speak and lead meetings, they learn how to organize activities and calendars.
They don’t just attend—they lead. Our girls plan events, organize service projects, run meetings, and make the big decisions themselves. It’s all about taking on real responsibility while having a blast and cheering each other on every step of the way! ✨
Behind the scenes, trained adult advisors are there to guide, support, and make sure everything stays safe and structured—but the leadership belongs to the girls.
That balance is where the magic happens.
