Traveling with Washington Idaho...
We have several trips planned you can be a part of! It is always fun to meet Rainbow Girls in other parts of the state and even in other states.
For Scheduled Trips (on Jurisdictional Itinerary) - All reservations and forms must go directly to Washington Idaho Tour Director for all scheduled out of state trips. These trips regularly include Grand Assembly sessions in California, Oregon and Nevada, with occasional trips to Montana, Alaska and Hawaii (if interest prevails). Trips to Supreme Assembly, Eastern Washington and Idaho are often possible.
NEVADA - We will travel to Nevada's Grand Assembly from June 16-20th to join the Positive Passionate Peacocks as they walk through a Winter Wonderland. The cost of the trip is $350 and includes hotel (4 to a room), registration, Grand Banquet, Mystery Trip, and three dinners built into the budget. This does not include Grand Cross of Color Lunch. Travelers need to also take into consideration meals not covered of approximately $125 and extra expenses. The deadline for payment and all paperwork is April 15th. This year all girls must buy their own plane tickets, our flight numbers are Departing Seattle to Reno on Saturday, June 16 at 10:05 am arriving in Reno at 12:05 pm on Alaska Flight 2257. And Departing Reno to Seattle on Wednesday, June 20 at 12:35pm arriving in Seattle at 2:40 pm on Alaska Flight 2258. All flight reservations should be made by March 15th.
Supreme Assembly
We will travel to Supreme Assembly July 2012. Airline reservations need to be made by the individual traveling. Girls traveling with the group without an individual chaperone will need to be on the designated flights. You will be responsible for checking luggage fees ($40) and ground transportation to the hotel (taxis are approximately $40).
If a girl is traveling with an adult you may make different reservations for Supreme Assembly. The main requirement is that you are ready by 2 pm on Saturday, July 21 to participate in the required Supreme Choir, Cavalcade of Flags, ritual, or Supreme Officer practices. The Tour Directors must have all your travel information by April 30.
Supreme Assembly is over at approximately 1 pm on Wednesday, July 25. If you are not planning to do the extended trip you are free to make your return reservations to fit your schedule. The itinerary below is for those continuing on in the Michigan area. We are considering the following items for the extended trip: Frankenmuth, MI, Dearborn, Mi (Greenfield Village, Rouge Factory Tour, and Henry Ford Museum), Sandusky, OH (Cederpoint Amusement Park), and then returning to Grand Rapids. The estimated cost is an additional $400. Meals are on your own.
Payment for Supreme Assembly portion of the trip at Grand Rapids is due on April 30. Please don’t miss the deadline.
Please forward airfare reservations as quickly as possible to Mrs. Herrington.
Travel to non-jurisdictional destinations (not on Jurisidictional itinerary)
If you decide to travel out of state representing Rainbow as a Grand Officer, you need to send an Out of State Travel Form to the Director of Grand Officer (directorgo@nwrainbow.org) for each trip.
If you are a Jurisdictional Representative, send the travel form to the Director of Jurisdictional Representatives(directorofcorries@nwrainbow.org).
- Follow the rules of the out of state jurisdiction when packing and adhere to Washington Idaho guidelines. Not easy but possible! Some states do not permit colored formals, some allow pastel colors only and some say “NO” to red/indigo/dark green /royal blue! ASK BEFORE YOU GO!! NO BLACK!!
- Leave GRUBBIES at home – no exceptions! Wear a dress at all times unless your host indicates casual clothes are in order for special events.
- Your hair must be up and under a wiglet at all Rainbow sessions. Follow Washington Idaho guidelines.
- Carry your dues card, Grand Cross Card and identification at all times! You are responsible for your conduct as well as that of your traveling companion at all times!
