- Collecting food, bedding, toys, etc for animals to donate to shelters, Pasado Safe Haven, or food banks
- Collecting bedding, toys, clothes, etc for babies and small children to donate to shelters, food banks, domestic violence programs, foster care organizations
- Visit a nursing or care home and talk with the director to see if they would allow matching up of elderly residents with members of your group. Schedule regular visits (once or twice a month)... bring homemade treats, read to them, play a game of cards or checkers... and send them letters or cards from time to time
- For the holidays or just because see if your community has an Adopt a Family program set up. The Assembly could put together a food basket and raise money to purchase gifts for the children in that family. This is sometimes referred to as an Angel Tree
- Helping at our sponsoring organizations: cleaning the lodge, reception room, storage areas, landscaping, parking lot or something like singing, performing a ceremony or serving at a dinner or reception with no expectation of payment or reward
- Clean up the community - waterfront areas, community parks, highways or other roads all are in need of cleaning up once in awhile. Some have official "adopting" rights or you can just make arrangements with your local parks department or similar organization.
- Hospitals often have age limits for their volunteers and some units do not allow visitors at all. However, they are often in need of donations of games, puzzles, books, video games, movies, etc to keep kids busy while they are stuck in the hospital ward trying to get better.
- Cemetaries - whether it be cleaning up the headstones, landscaping or preparing for a ceremony, and placing flags - there are various tasks that some assemblies have been doing for generations.

Don't forget to mark your calendar for the next Make a Difference Day - always the fourth Saturday in October. Let's all do something together as Rainbow Girls to make a difference!!
