Grand Assembly of Washington and Idaho

International Order of the Rainbow for Girls

 

Rainbow Dads’ Scholarship Fund

 

I.                 AMOUNT OF AWARDS

Scholarships are for $500.00 or more, depending upon the earnings from the fund.

 

II.               WHO MAY APPLY?

Rainbow Girls in good standing or Majority Members who:

1)     Have not passed their 25th birthday at the time of Grand Assembly, and

2)     Rainbow girls or majority members in good standing who have completed high school and one year of post secondary education, and who have not received the Rainbow Dad’s Scholarship twice (These two requirements may be altered or waived for a Grand Worthy        Advisor or Past Grand Worthy Advisor).

3)     A Rainbow girl or Majority member may receive scholarship support from the Rainbow Dad’s Scholarship Fund a maximum of two times.

III.             HOW DOES ONE APPLY?

Contact any member of the Scholarship Committee or go on line to http://www.nwrainbow.org

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Application must be postmarked by May 1, 2008

 

IV.            JUDGING OF THE APPLICATIONS IS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING:

1)     Financial need

2)     Service to Rainbow, community, church, and school

3)     Scholastic Ability

4)     Letters of Recommendation

 

V.              CONTENTS OF APPLICATION

1)     The application form must be filled out completely in ink or typed and signed by the applicant and parent or guardian (Scanned applications will be accepted).  Please feel free to use the reverse side of the form or add pages if there is not enough space to answer each item.

2)     Two confidential reports, (mailed directly to the Chairman of the Rainbow Dad’s Scholarship Committee), must be completed by one person in each of the two following categories:

A)   Easter Star, Mason, Rainbow Dad, Teacher, Minister, or other prominent adult

B)    Mother Advisor, Past Mother Advisor, or District Deputy.

3)     In one page or less, type your college and professional goals, financial needs, and other interests. 

4)     Include an unofficial transcript from the college you are attending.

 

VI.            CHANGE OF PLANS

          If the applicant decides not to go to college, the award must be returned.

 

             ALL SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED AT GRAND ASSEMBLY
