Rainbow Lessons
Rainbow has a lot of lessons for the members to learn such as organization, performing a ceremony, learning how to run meetings, how to prepare agendas and more! This page discusses the lessons learned in the book of ceremonies. The memorization work that each member learns as they take an office in the organization stays a part of them into adulthood. Girls can hold many different offices in the local Assembly for a six month term of office. Each requires some memory work.
Officers include:
- Worthy Advisor (WA) is like a President and she presides at meetings and plans activities for her term. This office is the highest office in an assembly and is elected by the members of her assembly.
- Worthy Associate Advisor (WAA) is similar to a Vice President and serves as second in command of the assembly. She presides over a meeting in the absence of the Worthy Advisor, assists the Worthy Advisor in all things and prepares to move up to the office of Worthy Advisor. This office is also elected by the members of her assembly.
- Charity is an elected line officer that teaches about charitable deeds. She moves up to Worthy Associate Advisor if elected.
- Hope is an elected line officer that teaches that hope is always there. She moves up to Charity if elected.
- Faith is the first elected line officer and teaches that faith is our constant companion. She is the officer who guides new candidates throughout an initiation ceremony. She moves up to Hope if elected.

- Recorder records minutes and handles correspondence for a one year term. This is an elected position in our jurisdiction.
- Treasurer Handles monies, bills and compiles financial reports for a one year term. This is an elected position in our jurisdiction.
- Drill Leader Leads in the officers in their floor work and leads guests around the Assembly room in addition to presenting our Nation's Flag during ceremonies.
- Chaplain Rainbow is not a religious organization but does hope that each member will have a spiritual belief in some religion. Our book of ceremonies was written by a Christian minister in 1922. As such, we do have the office of Chaplain in each local group.
- Seven Bow Stations There are seven offices that are referred to as our bow stations as they form the colors of the Rainbow. Each of these stations has a message during our ceremonies. Red represents love of family, friends, . Orange represents a Spiritual belief or Religion. Yellow represents a love of the great out of doors and asks we spend time in Nature. Green represents immortality and an understanding of death. Blue represents fidelity, loyalty and friendship. Indigo represents patriotism and honoring our Country's flag. Violet represents Service and what it means to help one another.
- Confidential and Outer Observers Guard the inner and outer doors, respectively (appointed)
- Musician and Choir Director Provide music for the meetings (appointed)

- Some Assemblies and Grand Assemblies have other officers not specified in the ritual, such as Historian, Editor, Bible Bearer, Goodwill Ambassador, American Flag Bearer, State Flag Bearer, Christian Flag Bearer, Rainbow Flag Bearer, and Assembly Banner Bearer.
- Mother Advisor: She is the Adult Leader for the Assembly (local group) there to help and guide the girls in the "Rainbow World".
- Rainbow Dad: Our “Rainbow Dad” is a Master Mason. (We need to have a Mason to have a meeting.) This special man has agreed to “be there” for us and to help support us. Make sure that you look for his special suspenders. If he is not wearing them, he owes money. Of course if he has them on it will cost you a dollar! (with the money going toward the Rainbow Dads Scholarship Fund)
- Advisory Board: Members of the sponsoring orders, parents, Majority Members (alumnae) and at least one Master Mason make up an Advisory Board that also oversees and aids the girls. Almost all of the Assembly work is done by the girls, with the advisors in support roles only.
