Jurisdictional Representatives "J-Reps" Page...

Jurisdictional Representatives (formerly Correspondents) to other jurisdictions have added responsibilities throughout the year. Here is some information you will need:

You are selected from applications and appointed at the Grand Assembly each year.  You serve for one year and your purpose is to represent the WA ID jurisdiction to the jurisdiction for which you are assigned.  In the process, you bring back information and ideas to our own jurisdiction and we learn how Rainbow can be different from state to state and country to country.  You will correspond through letters, email and possibly by visiting their jurisdiction.  You are encouraged to travel to the jurisdiction to which they have been assigned although it is not required.  Guidelines for travel are in the correspondent handbook.

This web page includes dates, forms and information for current Jurisdictional Representatives:

You will receive a rather formal looking “Commission” in the near future.  This will contain the name and address of your counterpart.  Please remember that Grand Assembly sessions are scheduled at various times throughout the year so we do not have all the information at the same time. Your information will be forwarded to you as soon as it is received.  Please be patient.

It is your responsibility to find out about Rainbow from your counterpart and to share this information at Grand Assembly.  Equally important is that you share information about Washington Idaho Rainbow with her, as she too is required to make a report of some kind.

If you travel to another jurisdiction as a representative of Washington Idaho, you MUST make your own travel arrangements.   Also, you MUST inform the Director of Jurisdictional Representatives of your plans in advance.  (Date of the departure, arrival, where you will be staying, etc.  *See Travel Information and Form).   You must be accompanied by an adult at least 25 years old.

It may take a great deal of effort on your part to promote a “letter” relationship.  Ask about her Rainbow activities, her school, special interests such as sports, art and music, aspirations and goals, favorite things, family, everything that you want to know about a new friend.

Include your assembly in your letter writing.  Make cards and have everyone sign them.  Hand out your correspondents name and address and let the girls in your assembly share in the letter writing.  Your assembly may want to write to other girls in your counterpart’s assembly.  You should also report at your assembly about what you are doing and what you have found through your correspondence.

Please remember your new friend on special days; her Birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, her Grand Assembly, etc.  Remember you may be the only person she ever knows from Washington Idaho.
